End of Semester Games

The Game of Quelf

The past few weeks have been full of paper writing, finals prep, AND a lot of fun! Matt and I were able to host a few pasta dinner/study nights and  game nights. Here are some fun pics from our games nights. If you haven't played the board game QUELF you may want to. It's a great game for all ages and a fun/embarrassing time is guaranteed.
Looks fun right??
Here are some of our college peeps
Paige had to hold the spatula for the duration of the game...
I had to bust out an impromptu workout video....nice.
Balancing a spoon on her nose for 5 seconds
I had to wrap my head like a mummy and leave it there until someone rolled a 4
....it was about 30 minutes before that happened!!
Matt had to play peek-a-boo with anyone who talked to him
Shaya had to make a fort using a blanket and chairs and hide there until her next turn.
Matt had to yodel with his finger up his nose until he rolled 3 fours!
Dan was forced to hide under the table
...he got comfy with his coffee and stayed there for the rest of the game!

As you can see, the game of QUELF is FUN...buy it and play it with your family/friends!

Busy, busy

Well the end of the SPRING semester is upon us. This week we have finals and then we are finished with our first semester here at SWBTS. Have I mentioned that GOD IS GOOD??? It is nice to almost have our first semester under our belts. I start the May-mester in a couple of weeks. Thankfully I have already ordered my books and will spend the next 2 weeks getting ahead on my reading/paper writing for my summer courses (NT Survey, Greek 1 & 2, and NT Focus Study).

This past week we spent a lot of time with friends. We attended the Spring Finale, hosted a mystery dinner/amazing race night, and had several late night/early morning cram sessions. Here are some pics from the Finale (I will post the other ones later this week).
It was so nice to have a night out with Matt. It has been amazing to see his growth this semester. He is an amazing husband and I am blessed to be married to such a great man!!
The Spring Finale was a formal dinner to celebrate the graduates and the end of the semester.
Meet Brittany!! She is a sweetheart and my partner in crime (she is one of the few girls in my classes). She spends time loving on our kiddos, making me laugh (stress relief) and making me feel my age (she just turned 20). Matt and I are enjoying loving on the college "kids" that live in the dorms. We host study sessions/pasta dinners weekly. Although they say we bless them we feel the opposite is true. God has provided awesome relationships and people to encourage us.

**Truth be told, while I post this Matt is at the house with 2 college guys watching the Hurt locker and Brit and I are at at restaurant studying for a final we have tomorrow night:)

God has been faithful to allow Matt and I to minister to others and still have 2 dates each week. It's amazing how much time you have when you put down everything else and seek His face.

Update on K-man

God has been ever present in our journey to help our little guy. In the past few weeks we have learned that his speech issues are medically related and not (PTL) learning disabilities. We have already met with several doctors and he is scheduled for surgery in early June. This could not have come at a better time. He begins therapy this week and we are praying, with therapy, he will progress quickly. Here are some recent pics of our silly guy. He brings us lots of laughs!!!
Thank you to all of you have called us and encouraged us these past few months. Walking in obedience to God's call on our lives has been both the biggest blessing and the biggest challenge we have ever faced. However, few people in this country get to truly walk by faith...and we get to! We are excited about what God has for us this summer and the work he is doing in the lives of our children.

**I know this update is a little vague (due to the public forum). If you want a more detailed update just call me:)

A natural performer

It's no surprise that H loves the spotlight. This past Sunday she performed with her choir. Here is a clip.

**Be sure to watch until the end....it's sure to make you laugh!! She is the blondie in pigtails on the bottom right:)

The Fort Worth Ballet's production of Sleeping Beauty

L was chosen by her school to attend the ballet at the Bass Performance Hall. She was given three tickets, so both H and I were able to go along. It was amazing, to say the least. We had fun getting all dressed up!!

I was having so much fun with the girls I forgot to take more pictures. But this is what I got...

Downtown Fort Worth was crazy due to the art festival. The traffic reminded me of a line at
Disneyland...but it was well worth the wait. Matt and K drove me and the girls so we
wouldn't have to bother with parking...He is so sweet.
The Downtown Signs
L on the way to the ballet...missing her first tooth!!
The ceiling in the Bass Performance Hall is remarkable....it is a beautiful venue.
L saw her friend at the ballet too.
H had so much fun! It was her fourth ballet and she loves them.
The funniest moment of the evening was when the men came on stage to dance. H quickly says, "why do the boys have to be here?" and L covered her eyes because she "could see everything and it was gross!!"

One day they will grow up and get married. But for now, I'm happy that they aren't interested.
