As you know from the previous post, we just arrived here in Texas. We had been spending time in California with family while we paid off some debt and prepared for life here at Seminary. Many days were spent just like this. With our toes in the warm sand. soaking up the sun. Time spent at the beach was nice. It provided a cool place to come to in the heat of summer and many opportunities to share the gospel. The picture above was K's first time at the beach and he LOVED it. That is until we dug a hole and sat all 3 kids in it. He was all smiles unil he realized his legs were buried...oops! I guess he didn't realize it was supposed to fun. But to give him credit I can see, from his perspective, how that would be scary!! Now that we are settled here I must say...I do miss the beach!
Thanks for visiting our blog! We are students at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (beginning our undergraduate studies). We just finished our first semester and are ready to jump into summer!! We are here preparing and being equipped to do the Lords work overseas in hopes that EVERYONE has the opportunity to receive Christ as their savior (if you have questions about this please check out the bottom of our page). You were designed for something far greater than a day-to-day existence: a relationship with God.
The Bible teaches us that we are all separated from God because of sin, our own wrong thoughts and actions*. Sin leads to death and hell*, and none of our good works can change that*.
But there's good news! Jesus Christ paid for our sin by His death on the cross*. Through faith in Him, and Him alone, we can be reconciled with God here-and-now* and live in heaven with Him forever*.
Not only that, but God promises to change us from the inside-out*, to free us from the bondage of sin through the Holy Spirit*, and to give our lives meaning and purpose* as we learn to live for Him instead of ourselves*. We can deepen our relationship with God by spending time with Him through prayer, worship, and Bible study, by obeying His teachings, and by meeting with other believers.
